Overview

The BERC Summer Conference is a collaborative learning space designed to prepare, support, and empower educators in teaching Black Studies in NYC. At the BERC Summer Conference, you will discover new resources, build your network, and interface with like-minded scholars and educators through a variety of workshops and panel discussions.

Focus

This year’s BERC Summer Conference is an extension of our ongoing professional learning programs in support of the EEAPC Black Studies Curriculum, Black Studies as a Study of the World, which will be released this summer.

What to Expect

Participants will learn from scholars and educators in the field of Black Studies, engage in deep explorations of the curriculum (lessons, content, and pedagogies), network with a vibrant community of educators from across the City committed to equity in education, and enjoy a host of other learning experiences to build knowledge and readiness to implement the Black Studies Curriculum this fall.
